Communication & Media Specialist. Live coverage, humanitarian storytelling and engagement. From news production to fundraising.

01 / Snapshot

Newsroom skills, applied to fundraising

I am a Berlin-based journalist and producer. For more than a decade I ran content production and live coverage for international news agencies, from US elections and Olympic Games to breaking news and sudden onset crises. I manage from small teams to groups of dozens of staff and freelancers under deadline.

At UNICEF I have brought that experience to fundraising and engagement: I manage the production of Virtual Experiences that take donors close to the work in the field, and the areas where children and families need the most support.

Worked with

100+live donor events produced for UNICEF

Case 01 / UNICEF / 2022 to present

Bringing donors into the field, live

UNICEF Virtual Experiences are live briefings that connect High Value donors with field staff and experts. I manage their production end to end, and the content that keeps donors engaged between events.

The brief

Give major donors a direct, trustworthy view of UNICEF's work without travel, at a steady monthly rhythm.

My role

Content producer and strategist for the program, supporting the Virtual Experiences Task Force.

What I did

Produced 100+ events: speaker preparation, run of show, live production, monthly invitations, the donor mailing list and the program hub.

Case 02 / UNICEF / 2022 to present

Emergencies, explained to the people who fund the response

When a sudden onset emergency strikes, I produce live briefings that connect donors with UNICEF teams responding on the ground, from the State of Palestine to Nepal and Venezuela.

The brief

Give donors timely, accurate updates on what children need and how UNICEF is responding, while the situation is still unfolding.

Example

UNICEF's 100th Virtual Experience, Emergency Response and Equity: two sessions timed for Asia and for Europe and the Americas, with live interpretation into five languages.

My role

Producer: editorial line, speakers, invitations, interpretation and live delivery.

Case 03 / News agencies / 2012 to 2022

Case 04 / Sport / 2008 to 2022

The biggest events in sport, planned to the minute
